A fine porcelain figure of a lady wearing early 19th century romantic style dress made by the Sitzendorf factory in Germany. The figure is seated on a tree stump and holds a lilac hat trimmed with roses and flowers. The same type of delicately sculpted flowers adorn the base with hand painted gilding accenting the base, the skirt and the shoulder bows. The skirt is also handpainted with floral decoration to the front. Predominant colours are vibrant shades of blue, yellow and a reddish brown.
Stamped to the base with the Sitzendorf mark order used from 1918 as far as I can tell. Measures approx 12.5 cms in height and 6 cms across the base.
