Salvador Dalí is among the most versatile and prolific artists of the 20th century and the most famous Surrealist. Dalí epitomized the idea that life is the greatest form of art and he mined his with such relentless passion, purity of mission and diehard commitment to exploring and honing his various interests and crafts that it is impossible to ignore his groundbreaking impact on the art world.

Though chiefly remembered for his painterly output, in the course of his long career he successfully turned to sculpture, fashion, advertising, filmmaking, writing, and, perhaps most famously, printmaking in his collaborations with printing ateliers. Dalí was renowned for his flamboyant personality and role of mischievous provocateur as much as for his undeniable technical virtuosity.

The prints of Salvador Dalí are rooted back to his early years of art school, where the young Dalí was taught the fine art of engraving and etching, later as Dalí's printing skills improved, he expanded the range of his mediums and themes. Dalí had the ability to experiment with a wide range of media and subjects through his print work that would lead him to producing beautiful suites or single prints. The connection between Dalí and graphic prints is intricate and protracted, he produced around 1,700 graphic prints during his lifetime of which some are regarded as the best prints created in the 20th century.
