Estate World War II Forget Me Not, Sweetheart order Ring

This listing is for a very neat piece of History and a relationship that endured the war!

This is a Forget Me Not style band that is engraved in an eternity style design throughout the ring. These were very popular during the second World War, often called sweetheart jewlery.

Soldiers often sent home jewelry to their families and sweethearts. Due to shortages in supplies and precious metals many pieces were made from wood, bakelite or celluloid. To find one made of silver of gold plating was scarce.

In the United States, we showed our support and patriotism by wearing the sweetheart jewlery sent back from our men overseas.
