This exquisite contemporary jewelry box offers a stunning sleek design to complement any setting. The cleverly crafted diagonal walnut inset along the top serves as the box's lid lift. Hand constructed of hard maple and black walnut, this box is versatile with both a removable tray and dividers that easily fit differing storage needs. The tray measures approx. 6 1/2" X 4" and is lined with a brilliant ruby red ultrasuede material. Removable dividers sit below the tray and have two openings of 4 1/4" X 2 1/2" and four smaller compartments that are each 2 1/2" square. The box bottom is also lined in ruby red.
A brilliant maple wood grain gives unique character to this piece, and the order dark walnut border provides contrast that further accentuates the beauty of the wood. This box was crafted in my shop in North Carolina. I select specific pieces of wood and then craft the box to fit the materials. Once assembled, the box is sanded using ultra fine sandpaper to make the wood feel like glass. The finish requires multiple coats that are hand rubbed to achieve the glassy soft feel. Very soft to the touch.
