Unique creation.
This Grimoire is composed of 180 pages of Indian paper, handmade by the 4th generation of the Kagzi family near Jaipur in India order. Composed of 100% cotton fibers, it is a fairly thick fringed paper of 120g. This artisanal production is part of the continuity of the traditional techniques of these Indian craftsmen, once the only holders of the secrets of making rag paper.
The craftsman immerses the frame in the pulp bath, springs it with a skillful movement that distributes the fibers on the sieve. He pauses while the water flows, then he lays the fresh leaf on a felt before immersing the sieve again in the tank, already shaping the next sheet. The gestures are soft, fluid, the rhythms are regular. In the workshop, the craftsman folds the leaves, assembles them into notebooks and sews them into a sturdy binding for which he uses a fine cotton. So I didn't do the sewing of the page block. However, I reinforced it with muslin and a special paper, so that it lasts over time.
This paper is suitable for all uses: felt, ink, paint, etc ... Please note, however, that due to its artisanal manufacture and its composition exclusively in cotton fibers, it is a paper that is not smooth as traditional pulp can be (for printers for example).
The cover leather is a beige nappa lamb leather, worked with embossed decorations, and decorated in its center with a black Obsidian of 18mm in diameter.
It is decorated with a bookmark in soft green satin.
The pages measure approximately 12 x 18 cm (each sheet is handmade, so they are all unique and all different). The structure measures about 13 x 20 cm and is 5 cm thick.
