I have been crocheting for over 60 years so this throw was made with experienced hands and is order well made. "Square Shells Meets Granny Afghan" is a crocheted throw size blanket 60"x 60". My favorite is to use this size throw as a cover for the back of a chair or sofa. This makes it a pop of color to add to your decor and still is handy as a warm, soft and cozy throw when needed.
The yarn used is actually burgundy red in color and made in a very soft yarn called "Simply Soft". I could not get the true color to show up in my photos but it is really beautiful in person. The color of this one is burgundy. It is washable and can be put in the dryer on cool setting. I always put mine in the washer on a delicate cycle and then on a low setting in the dryer. With the new yarns today this throw will last for many years to come.
I used a pattern created by "Fiber Spider found on YouTube.com" and he calls his Virus Meets Granny Blanket. The Granny part refers to the most popular crochet stitch used and the virus part is a type of shells and fans pattern. Combined they make a very beautiful blanket.
My environment is "smoke free" but I do have a house cat. I try my best to keep him away from the yarn projects but if you are really allergic to cat fur this may not be a good choice for you.
If burgundy is not your thing, there is a "Made to Order" option available. This throw was a lot of fun to create and I am hoping whoever buys this will get a lot of enjoyment from it as well.
