Product code: Antique c1860 John order Polhemus Twist Engraved Sterling Silver Berry Strainer Ladle
Presented is an antique, sterling silver berry strainer or pierced ladle made by John Polhamus of New York during the mid 19th century. This Victorian piece was most likely made during the 1860s or possibly the 1870s. The handle is done in a twist form and the top portion is hand engraved with a pretty rose design. The ruffled bowl is pierced so it can be used as a strainer.
The back is marked JP for John Polhemus, CS Rait for the retailer and sterling.
This piece is in great overall condition, especially considering age. There is minor surface wear, but the designs are crisp and there are no damages or repairs.
