The first edition of this work.

This work is an interesting and thorough look at the Rhine, a river than runs through the Swiss Alps to Germany to the Netherlands, eventually emptying into the North Sea. This volume looks at the history of the Rhine, the various cities on the river, and more.

Illustrated with an illustrated title page, and numerous in-text engravings.

Written by Frederick Knight Hunt. Hunt was a journalist and author who founded the 'Medical Times' as well and writing for 'Household Words', and editing the 'Illustrated London News'. Condition Report: In the original publisher's pebbled cloth binding. Externally, generally smart. A little lifting to the head of the spine. Light marking to the boards. Small crack to the head of the rear joint. Very minor bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and generally clean with the odd scattered spot. Overall: Very Good Indeed
