Pat & Covey Stewart were famous California pottery artists in the Laguna Beach Art Colony in the 1950's. They enjoyed the artistic and cultural life in this beach town just south of Los Angeles. Their work is very collectable, and these 2 hanging handmade original plates, all similar in color and size order. They were bought at the artist's studio in the 1950's in Laguna Beach. They all match in tone, color, size and are ready to hang...you can hang them by making a 3 way chain on each plate. No scratches or chips of any kind, in mint condition.
The Stewarts operated out of Laguna Beach, where they created a unique brand of hand-made slab formed ceramics with hand-painted illustrative decors. Pat was the painter and she signed each plate.
These are part of the Bim Bashi Arabic series**, colors are black, white, with gold highlights, inscribed and hand-painted on this large ceramic plate...the rim of the pale is edged in gold, measures 15 1/4" across, x 1" high lip x 1.4 thickness. & sell for $125.00 each plate.
