order Van Briggle has introduced many floral and nature themed motifs into its lines over the years. They are graceful in their execution and timeless in their presentation. This Turtle flower frog is no exception to that assertion. Made in the mid 1960's and 70's, it is fired in a distinctive black and blue gloss Lava glaze. This technique provides for an interesting depth and a certain translucence. It depicts a stylized version of its namesake making its way upward and onward over variable terrain to its final destination. Having unquestionably a unique visual appeal, this fourteen hole "frog" stands 3" tall and is 5" wide. The familiar and traditional logo is incised on the underside. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or crazing noted. It would make a great companion piece, stand alone decoration or addition to your art pottery collection. Thanks for looking!!
