This is a fantastic, well maintained oval cast aluminum covered roasting pan, with a self basting type dome lid. order The pan is marked Super Maid Supreme Cookware, model #267. Made of cast aluminum, these sturdy roasters were made to last a lifetime. Perfect for your pot roast, turkey, chicken and dumplings or beef stew. It can be used on top of the range, or in the oven. Imported from Switzerland in the 1920s or 1930s, Super Maid was known as the "Aristocrat of Cooking Utensils". SIZE: This pot will hold 6 quarts of liquid (6 quarts is close to the brim). Without the lid it is 4 3/4" deep, 12" in length at the inside top (14 3/16" to outside of handles), 8 3/4" wide. 7 1/4" high to the top of the lid handle. CONDITION: This roaster is well maintained, in nice condition, with no chips, no cracks. The bottom is flat. The interior has darkened considerably, typical of aluminum cookware from the 20s-30s. There are various scratches and dings on the interior and exterior, some minor pitting.
