In 1876, Taylor and Kent joined the growing group of Potteries in and around Stoke on Trent. Located in Longton, their work is noted for some of the finest bone china (yes, bone is actually ground up and used).
Around 1960, Taylor and Kent began using the name "Elizabethan" but didn't change the name of the company until 1982. It was purchased by Churchill in 1990, but in the mid 90's, the factory producing Elizabethan was closed and demolished.
Many of the fine producers of some of the greatest dinnerware began to close. Competition, along with a price factor, forced their closing.
These eight plates are absolutely beautiful but without a closeup in full size, the actual look is not order fully appreciated. All have little to no wear and have no chips or cracks.
Set of eight.
