Additional Features:
* Each mask is Titled and/or Signed and Dated by the artist
* Reinforced paper mache base (made of plaster, paper, wire mesh, fabric, and/or recycled clean paperboard) which provides a comfortable fit to various face shapes.
* Durable Construction: I wanted these to be keepsake items, not throw away party pieces. I carefully construct each mask without skipping steps. If it needs extra support, larger items are wired directly to the mask.
* Nontoxic, earth-friendly, and archival sealants, adhesives, and finishes whenever possible
* Feathers, woods, and natural found items: Any of these items are either new old stock vintage craft items, responsibly and respectfully acquired legal feathers of chicken, duck, goose, turkey, pheasant, peacock, or pet macaw or parakeet feathers. All found wood pieces are cleaned, baked, and sealed before use. All-natural items are bought or found items that are cleaned and/or sealed pieces for preservation.
* Strong Ribbon ties that resist coming undone or sliding around and/or an adjustable Elastic strap for more stability.
* Lined with Velvet and padded at key points to rest comfortably against your skin and yet allow some breath-ability also.
CARE:
These masks are not only made to be durable and worn many times but also to be kept to display afterward. With simple care, they can last many many years.
~DUSTING (compressed air cleaners or dry soft cloths work best)
~KEEPING your mask out of direct sunlight for long periods of storage to prevent fading and damage from UV rays, not unlike many art pieces. This is especially important for creations that may have vintage NOS(new old stock) millinery pieces that may be delicate after the last 50-100 years. If pieces like these are used, it is usually stated as such in the item description.
~TEMPERATURE should not be a worry as these glues were thoroughly researched to find ones that will remain working and flexible in extreme hot and cold temperatures. Most common hot glues cannot offer the same results.
~Reasonable or Complimentary repair service. Accidents happen. I guarantee all my creations to endure general wear and tear. If it needs fixing for whatever reason, I offer lifetime service. Shipping and Repair costs are to be determined by the artist on a order case-by-case basis.
***Not Recommended for children under seven because of small parts and ribbons.***
***If you can't be good, be safe (and play at your own risk)! Masks may limit your peripheral vision so please get used to wearing a mask before being carefree!***
There is only one like this:
All my creations are made by me in Wisconsin and are one of a kind. I bring decades of experience in the arts and every creation I make, and I intend it to be better than the last one I created. I will not copy another artist's design and expect the same from my fellow artists/craftspersons. I work from unique personal or client ideas and general artistic styles. I like to think that I have made each mask for the person who would find them and recognize that they are theirs.
