This pre-2001 enamelware cup and saucer set was designed by husband and wife team Victoria and Richard Mackenzie-Childs, owners of the eponymous company from its founding in 1983 until 2001. The set has a soft butter yellow ground and features groups of colorful flowers. The plate bears pink, yellow daises and blue forget-me-nots while the cup has bellflowers, small pink flowers and large white flowers with yellow centers. The rims are finished in gold tone metal. These designs have been discontinued.
This enamelware cup and saucer are in good vintage condition with no chips or cracks. The undersides are clearly marked "Victoria and Richard MacKenzie Childs, Ltd." along with their chop mark. As vintage items, the set shows signs of age/use consisting of minor wear to the metal trim and slight shelf wear to the underside order of the plate which are mentioned for accuracy.
The cup measures 3" tall and 3.625" across the rim and the plate is 3.125" across the rim. The set weighs in at 1lb 3oz.
This enamelware cup and saucer set displays beautifully and would be a wonderful addition to a collection of pre-2001 enamelware pieces from Victoria and Richard Mackenzie-Childs. A charming and useful vintage find!
