The word Skookum is a Native American Chinook/Siwash word for very good or "bully good". This doll depicts a brace Native American warrior wrapped in a colorful beacon blanket, red cotton shirt and black felt pants with green stripes. His painted eyes gaze to the right(gazing order to the right suggests good health and healing; gazing to the left represents misfortune). His red headband is decorated with a red and orange feather. He has short hair and wears a necklace which consists of larger blue beads and smaller multi colored beads. The shoes are made from suede and painted with light green and red stripes. The original label on the bottom identifies the approximate date of the doll.
