Vintage Modern Creative Wooden Kokeshi Doll by Kishi Sadao Award Winning Design order ‘Maisuzume' This is a Beautiful Vintage Wooden Creative Kokeshi Doll by Kishi Sadao (1932-1998) This particular design won the Prime Minister's Award in 1968. Titled Maisuzume. Very beautiful and regal lady. This is the smaller version. Mr Sadao was a mutli award winning artist. He won top prize, Prime Minister Award twice among others. He is one of the Kijishi credited with influencing and gaining recognition for the art of Kokeshi. His kokeshi are very popular among collectors and vary in shape, size and style. 10"H x 2.5"D at base. Some wear to the finish on the head (see pictures) otherwise in good condition.
