This is a beautiful artwork, made in the traditional Japanese style Kiri-e.
The design of this paper cutting represents a detail of a Summer Japanese window, with the traditional wind chimes and Asagao flowers.
Original design: unknown artist
The artwork is cut out of black paper glued on a beige cardboard. The colored parts are made with color paper and chiyogami paper.
In the lower right corner of the artwork you can see my personal signature stamp.
The frames I usually use for my artworks are standard IKEA frames, that are easy to find and match with other artworks in the household, and I can count on the same high quality every time.

Kiri-e is the Japanese art of creating artwork by cutting order from a single piece of paper. It was brought from China in the Middle Ages and started as a way to make stencils for yukata and noren decorations (textile). Now the art has evolved and different contemporary artists search for their own way to create Kiri-e.

I found out about Kiri-e in 2012 and I've been in love with it ever since. Japan and everything Japanese is a big inspiration for me - starting from anime and manga and going from there to all traditional Japanese arts and symbols. Several years ago I started using colored Japanese papers - handmade washi and patterned chiyogami (yuzen) because I think they make my works more detailed and beautiful.

*Please note: The color is represented here as accurately as possible. Due to differences in computer screens, the color of the actual artwork may vary slightly to what you see here.

**Because all my paper crafts are hand cut and constructed, there could be slight variances from what is shown in the picture.

***Shipping: the artwork will be carefully packaged with stay flat protection and bubble wrap, in case you order a framed work.
