Late 1800s/Early 1900s Handmade FRENCH Antique COPPER Roasting Pan with Large Cast Iron Handle ~ Copper order Cookware ~ Collectible Riveted Pan
This lovely unique rustic handmade French Antique Copper roasting pan dates back to.
This lovely unique rustic handmade French Antique Copper roasting pan dates back to the late 1800s/early 1900s based on my conversations with the family owner who told me the story of how her great grandfather made these pans by hand and they had been in her family for generations. The age is also clear in the craftsmanship as it's condition dictates that it was from a time period when there were no machines or factories.
It is made of solid heavy copper with a thin tin metal coating (now faded from use) and a solid hand forged cast iron handle with a circle hook at the end for hanging which is attached by 4 copper rivets. It's a real imperfect piece of art in my opinion and it tells a story of it's history.
Although I personally cleaned these pans 5 times with dish soap and a scouring pad to get them in the current condition, I would not use this for cooking due to the age and condition but it would be a stunning feature for display in any living space. Either side of the pan can be visible for display.
Please note: I purchased 5 copper pans from the same owner but this listing is for 1 pan. If you are looking for several copper pieces please refer to my other listings below.

--- Condition ---
In rustic unique vintage condition and due to the age and usage there are many imperfections such as surface scratches/dents/marks/crazing, surface oxidation/fire cooking marks, lines of imperfections that look like a crack in the handle (the owner said it was made like this and that is why there is a 4th rivets) and the surface has uneven coloring from usage. As mentioned they have been carefully cleaned by me several times and I tried to remove as much of the rust as possible but some still exists on the handle. I highlighted all the imperfections in the photos and they speak clearly for themselves. Please ask me if you are unsure and use ZOOM to review the detail of each photo.
