A very rare concert tour item from the late Don Imus's order brief 1 man comedy show from 1983. Though unbevievably late on set, Don went on to blow the house down with behind the scenes antics during his WCBS and +/- days prior to his his MSNBC antics, and unfortunate death later on. He was quite the character in the Chance's closet sized "Green Room" and went on, nearly an hour late, to do a phenomeneanal 1-man stand up! We spent quite a bit of time drinking Gennesee Cream Ale (have to assume a sponsor at the time 'cause I hated it) and I got to know the real Imus. A genuinely good to honest good guy. Also includes unused ticket for the performance's late show, as shown.

Includes un-canceled ticket to the show (my gf didnt show)

Among my 30 year career in radio in the Hudson Valley was the opportunity to introduce artists at the Historic Chance theatre and Mid-Hudson Civic Center in their heyday. Among the merch we used to toss out to the audience were T-shirts commemorating the concert. All of these items are Original TRUE Collectable Vintage items and NOT vintage art or embroidery on new stock.

This truly unique and Vintage Don Imus Stand-up comedy show from January 1983 was one of only a few he every did live. To say it was a miracle to get this show to happen on performance night is an understatement. The limo got lost (allegedly) and showed up 45 minutes late. Imus was, well let's say, well lubed. I met with him in the Green room for publicity shots and to see if he could pull of the show, and he was absoloutely one of thie nicest guys I ever met. Candid, sincere, kind, and went on to do nearly 2 hours of solo stand up that described the hilarity of behind the scenes antics between him, Howard Stern, and Soupy Sales, who covered morning through afternoon drive time on CBS. Unbelievable show!

Though the label reads Medium it is truly closer to a small and is in excellent condition for its age.

Built in 1912, The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie NY has had a long history as a performing arts venue. It was opened as a vaudeville house called the Dutchess Theatre. In 1970 Larry Plover and Peter Franchese opened the venue as “Sal's last Chance Saloon”. Franchese turned the old vaudeville theatre into a music venue; welcoming legendary acts such as The Police (their first US show), Pete Seeger, the Pat Metheny Group, Todd Rundgren & Utopia, Bob Dylan, Charles Mingus, David Bowie, and several more artists/bands with an amazing and sometimes overpowering Crest 64 channel Pro sound system. It was the Premier small venue performance and rehearsal space in NY's Hudson valley for decades. I had the privilege of working with the original Chance Theatre owner as a radio sales exec to host several established and breaking musicians in my career! Hence these remaining T-shirts!
