Ecoprint 605 ; order matted to 9"x12"

Ecoprinting is the process of taking paper that has been soaked in a mordant ( I use alum ) overnight and then layered with plants, flowers, fruits, etc. and bundled in stacks or wrapped around rusty cans and boiled for an hour or two. It results in the dyes and tannins being absorbed into the paper permanently in unique and unpredictable ways.
I have been taking my ecoprints and embellishing them with illustration pens and colored pencils to create abstract designs and balanced compositions based on natural forms.
