This pendant really intrigued me when I came across it at a recent international jewelry show because I order have never seen Far Eastern depictions of the Hamsa Hand or Hand of Fatima, a Mediterranean (mainly Jewish and Islamic) symbol of apotropaic magic that is used to ward against the Evil Eye. Add in the exotic factor of the pendant's materials--intricately hand-carved yak bone and hand-tooled Tibetan silver--and I knew I had to get it and create a gemstone beaded necklace to sell out there in Etsy land!
The cool ivory hue of the pendant made me select Botswana banded agate (in a matte finish) as the main gemstone for my beads, given the alternating pale and earthy hues of the agate to create a sense of warmth. Huge larimar beads (representing Crown Chakra energies) from the Dominican Republic flank the lobster-claw clasp, while glossy black onyx beads flank the pendant. I use turquoise seed beads as spacers to evoke celestial energies and the implication of heavenly energies to dispel the Evil Eye.
This is a truly one-of-a-kind piece I'm pleased to offer to you!
