Sumba & Pahikung
- Sumba is one of the Lesser Sunda Islands in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia.
- Much of order the cloth is used for ceremonies, weddings, funerals and passed down through families for generations., with designs illustrating island life or having ritualistic significance.
- The dyes are made from natural plants, such as Indigofera tinctoria (which is mixed with lime, and fermented) and the reds from Morinda Citrifolia roots. Other colours are made using a mixture of roots and leaves.
- Due to being hand made, there might be some imperfections and sizing differences.
Delicate & specialised hand washing advised.
