About JULIANA Ann Mitchell Pitman wrote:
“Juliana jewelry can be explained in one simple word – gaudy. Not tacky, mind you, just gaudy. No other word can explain the unique combinations of stones set upon the links of Juliana construction. All types of beautiful and unusual rhinestones are used, and all shapes of stones. Art glass, carved stones, stones that look like opals, rivoli stones and watermelon stones. And the colors, well, the colors spark. Yes, some have pale colors, but most are bold. And some of the pale ones are accented by bold sparkled stones, in colors you dreamed could be worn together, but were to shy to try.”

JULIANA's were made by De Lizza & Elster (D&E) The company began in about 1947 manufacturing jewelry, buttons, and buckles, all hand-set with rhinestones in soldered settings. They made jewelry for such well-known companies as Weiss, Alice Caviness, Ballet, Celebrity, Hobe, Hattie Carnegie, Kenneth J. Lane, Kramer, Karu, and many others. William DeLizza was the primary designer for this manufacturing firm throughout its long production
In addition to the jewelry they manufactured for other wholesalers, by 1953 the company was making the complex multi-colored, multi-layered jewelry line that it is best known for today. These pieces were never marked, but in 1967 the partners decided to create name recognition for this "house product" by placing paper hangtags with the "JULIANA" trademark on some of these pieces.

I'm not a vintage expert, I try to show clear pictures and describe the condition as accurately as I can. All pieces are vintage and pre-owned and will show some wear from age.

Please note that colors may not allways be captured right in a photograph and can appear very different on different screens. If you have any doubts or questions, please ask before ordering to avoid disappointment.
