Vintage Antique order Green Tin Metal Large Lot of 7 Apothecary Tins Selected Pressed Herbs Parke Davis & Co Medicine Pharmacy Chemist Display

Wonderfully unique vintage/antique metal apothecary herb tins from the Parke Davis company, circa very early 20th order century (or possibly even earlier - the company began in 1866, so these could very well be Victorian.) These are sold as a full lot of 7 tins.

Each tin is made from green tinted metal with a heavily textured finish (almost like a crocodile skin). The tall rectangular boxes have hinged lids. The tins are litho printed with information and illustrations from the Park-Davis company advertising "Herbs, Leaves, Flowers, Barks, and Roots for Druggists' Use." Some of the tins have old paper labels for substances like burdock seed, comfrey root, poke root, sassafras.

Each tin measures 9" in height, 4 1/2" wide and 3 1/2" deep.

These would be fun to use as a Halloween display of "poison herbs", or just as decor! They are absolutely a bit creepy and mysterious!

The tins are all in good structural condition with lids that move easily on the hinges. They all have obscured illustrations and printing (some more than others) and paper labels or remnants of paper labels. I would describe them as having a very strong antique patina!
