Product code: Antique/ Goodhue Mill Company Wooden Flour Scoop/ All Gold and Winsome Flour One Fourth Cup Metal Scoop/ Circa 1909/ Cannon Falls, order Minnesota

The Metal and Wooden Handle Flour Scoop is considered 'used' and it is in 'excellent' condition for age and use. There is some discoloration noted to the metal scoop and the 'Black Block Lettering' has faded in "ALL GOLD". Please refer to pictures above- prior to purchase.

The Goodhue Mill Company was located in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. I have found records of this Flour Mill dating back to 1896, but the records indicate that the Mill had capital stock of $15,000.00 during this time. Clearly, the Flour Mill dates back further in time. The production of Flour in and around Minneapolis increased tremendously through the 1880s. Minneapolis was known as the "Flour-Milling Capital Of The World". Minneapolis surpassed St. Louis during the first World War.

Each Flour Mill was located by a water source. The Goodhue Mill Company was located beside Cannon River. The falls generated power for the Mill and provided a means to transport the flour. Cannon Falls, Minnesota was founded in 1854. The 1850s had been order a very popular time for Flour Mills to manufacturer flour across the United States. The Goodhue Mill Company could date back as far as the 1850s.

The Metal Scoop is engraved with the following: LEVEL FULL 1/4 CUP.

The Wooden Handle is stamped with the following: ALL GOLD and WINSOME FLOUR GOODHUE MILL COMPANY.

Flour Scoops are a more difficult item to find. Flour Scoops found today- usually lack an actual Advertisement. I find it interesting that the Scoop advertised the name of the Flour Mill and the type of flours the Mill produced and sold. I cannot find "ALL GOLD and WINSOME FLOUR" in any research. Flour Mills would advertise their location and their financial success. It is more difficult to find an item advertising the Flour Mill Company and the products they produced.

The item is extremely clean and considered 'display' ready. It measures 8.75 inches in length.
