The myth says that Persephone was very unhappy, but after much time, she came to love the cold-blooded Hades and lived happily with him. She grew to dislike the time she would have to leave the underworld. This painting is a depiction of them dancing on the last night they're together. She moves freely while Hades holds a hour glass showcasing the time they have together is limited and a scythe, because scythes are metal.
