I am a self-representing professional artist from the United States. My artwork has been purchased both here in America, and around the world.

This piece is a 100% hand-made original painting, created by Doug Basch using only the finest quality professional art materials. The finished painting is coated with a high-gloss varnish to protect it from dust and sun damage. I enjoy creating all sorts of artwork...contemporary abstract pieces, landscapes, seascapes. My pieces are created using watercolor, acrylic, or oil paint, depending on which medium suites the topic or genre the best.

My abstract pieces utilize bright, bold colors, geometrical shapes, and other order various techniques to intrigue and captivate the viewer, allowing them to decide what the painting means.  No two people will see, nor interpret the painting the same way.  With abstract art in general, it may be concluded that the true meaning is only known by the artist.  Every stroke of paint on the canvas had meaning and purpose to the artist when it was applied.

QUALITY IN CREATION
For my artwork, only the best supplies will do. I use only the best professional canvases, paints, and other supplies during the creation of my paintings. This helps to ensure the painting will last for years to come, and to minimize issues with humidity, dust, sunlight, and other conditions which can deteriorate the painting over time. Superior supplies contribute to maximum archival stability and durability. Once finished, each painting is coated with a varnish to protect it's surface as well.

The primed fabric is evenly stretched around solid wood stretcher bars, which are kiln-dried for warp-resistance and long-term stability. Larger canvas sizes are also cross-braced for extra support, and these configurations may vary by size and style of canvas.

My paintings are not framed when shipped. The edges of the canvas are painted, so the piece can be hung as is, or you can choose to have it framed.  I sign both the front and back of each piece.  All of my paintings ship with a Certificate of Authenticity.
