Beautiful copper kettle that has been cleaned and polished. This kettle came from a farm near Hutchinson, MN and has lots of wear. There are lots order of dents and wrinkles that give it an amazing texture and patina. The grip of the handle is black painted wood and the wire part of the handle is steel. The brackets that the handle attaches to are made of brass and are stamped "Rome". It will not hold water and is missing the lid; however, it could be an eye catching decorative item and could be repurposed as a planter.
The kettle measures 9 1/4 inches across at the bottom and 4 3/8 inches across at the top (the top is not perfectly round, in some parts it's 4 1/2 inches across). It is 6 inches tall to the top of the spout.
As mentioned, this kettle has lots of scratches, scuffs, dents and dings and has extensive wear from years of use. It does leak and there is a hole in the side of the spout. The metal wire of the handle is rusty and the black paint on the wood grip is partially worn away. In spite of the wear, the handle is sturdy. The inside and the bottom have not been polished and there are hard water stains on the surface.
