Note:
VINCENT TORRE, a native of Brooklyn, NY, started painting at the age of 13. He graduated from the High School of Music and Art and studied with Sidney Laufman at the Art Students League; with Wallace Harrison privately; with Joseph Albers at the Yale School of Design; and at the Accademia di Belle Arte, Rome. He was represented by the Jasper Gallery, New York, until it closed in 1977. His drawings are represented by Brown's Fine Art, Jackson, Mississippi. In New York, his paintings are represented by the Agora Gallery.

He has had seven one-man shows, the first in 1953 at the Norfolk (Virginia) Museum while serving in the US Navy, the others on the Twin Forks of Long Island. He owned the Picture Perfect Gallery in East Quogue and The White Barn Gallery in Mattituck. His paintings are in private collections in the United States and Europe.

In 2016, he completed a series of 10 paintings of Commedia dell'Arte figures which have been installed in the Burcardo Museum, Rome. His work is inspired by Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Cezanne.
