This Royal Bayrueth hanging plate is hand painted with a scene from the high seas, with common fisherman working hard to bring in their catch for the day. Every detail is beautifully rendered by the artist, making it feel like the blue sky is a real, as the thrashing ocean below. It is this artistic skill, Royal Bayrueth is famous for, and which made their pieces collectible for the past 200 years. The company also used the the Moriage technique (using tiny raised dots of clay when decorating china) to enhance their scenes. Our plate has brown moriage dots in the band around the pictorial center. The plate is in excellent condition with no chips or scratches. The painted sections are near perfect, there is one very small black dot in the border. See Photos.
