order A real ancient treasure. This magnificent Moroccan Vintage Berber door is made by Berber peasants in solid wood available from the forests of the Grand Atlas
Each Morocco Vintage Gate is unique, it hides between these sculptures and drawings, the codes of the family that owns the attic and the tribune to which it belongs.
All of its attics are organized in a single building whose architecture is called Un Agadir (plural Igoudar, Igudar, Igidar) which gave its name to the city of Agadir in Morocco.
Description of Agadir (see photos)
The function of these buildings is above all defensive. The Agadir has common elements (water tank, mosque, keeper's lodge, the lodge of Inflass (representatives of families), wall, kitchen, toilet, etc.) and private elements represented by storage huts. The Agadir houses the water reserves in cisterns. Space is reserved for sheltering livestock.
Construction is often done on collective land and often on the property of the dominant clan or in wasteland atop a peak or hill. The building materials are always local: lime, adobe, dry stones, bricks. There are Agadirs built with several materials (stone in the base of the walls and the rest is adobe). The doors are made of wood and decorated with patterns with a strong presence of Amazigh and Sub-Saharan African influences.
The stairs are constructed of limestone slabs half-embedded in the walls. In other cases, pruned palm trees are used as stairs
