THIS IS AN ORIGINAL, ONE-OF-A-KIND, VINTAGE COVER PAINTING. IT IS NOT A PRINT OR A COPY.
Original painting, for the cover of a pulp published in Mexico 'Espejo de la Vida' ('Mirror of Life') #35. The artist is Raul Vieyra Flores and he has signed it bottom right.
Great piece, with great colours. The men have a kind of Joe 90 / Thunderbirds appearance. One seems to have a toddler emerging from his head. The woman adds some glamour in a low back dress.
The artwork is on canvas which is then attached to thick board. The dimensions given (approx 19 X 13 inches) are for the canvas. The whole thing, including the board is actually bigger than this (approx 20 x 14 inches).
The artwork itself is in great condition. The board it's attached to is a bit battered (see pictures) with a significantly bashed corner bottom left and some staining at the edges.
I'm not completely sure of the date of this piece. Although it looks earlier than 1970s, Mexican styles (at least in pulps) sometimes lag behind their counterparts elsewhere, so it's difficult to tell. I will update here when I have a more definite date (if no one buys it first),
More details/scans are available on request.
The art will be sent in a protective polypropylene sleeve and flat packed in a corrugated cardboard mailer.
