Experimental trapezoidal jewelry ladder with four tiers and rounded corners Features hand-sculpted black.
Experimental trapezoidal jewelry ladder with four tiers and rounded corners. Features hand-sculpted black epoxy clay feet in organic, natural shapes. Postmodern stand for jewelry leans against a wall or mirror. Made by me in my Brooklyn studio, where my first principle in both product and process design is reducing environmental impact.
*Low impact: I work with metal because it's beautiful, strong, and a true "loop" material. The vast majority of aluminum, stainless steel, and brass is recycled and infinitely recyclable.
*US based: Made in Brooklyn. Most materials, including all metal and all packaging, sourced from U.S. suppliers.
*Packaging & shipping: Zero-waste, plastic-free. Designed from the ground up. 100% post-consumer recycled and recyclable. Ground shipping to minimize emissions. Cardboard is backyard-biodegradable (wet and shred it to speed the roughly three-month process.)
*Design: Thoughtful, intentional postmodern design.
*Materials: Solid stainless steel, black VOC-free and solvent-free epoxy clay.
*Care: Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
*Editioned: Made individually by hand. Part order of an edition, with edition numbers inscribed on the package.
*Dimensions: Height: 16.5", Width 9.5"
*Weight limit: 10 lbs.
*Life cycle: In normal use this piece can be expected to be of service for at least 10 years. The stainless steel will last many times that under normal use. At the end of this piece's life as home decor, the steel tiers can be cut from the clay feet with bolt cutters and the steel can be taken to a metal recycler to be sold back for reuse.
