Vintage Antique Beaded Purse with Turquoise Celluloid Frame - Black Beaded Handbag - Silk Lined order - Art Nouveau Antique Purse - Flapper Bag

The bright turquoise celluloid frame really makes this antique purse pop! The body of the bag is made from a tan-colored thick woven fabric decorated with black glass beads in a pattern of flowers and vines. The frame is silvertone lined with turquoise celluloid on both sides. On one side there is also an applied cast metal decoration of a flowering vine, studded with small glass cabachons, green and blue.

Fabric is hand-stitched to frame. Most of the stitching was done by me, as the fabric was nearly detached when I acquired this purse. My stitching was done with cotton embroidery thread which very closely matches the original stitching.

The lining is a gray silk.

Purse has a silvertone chain handle.

Size: 6 inches wide x 7 inches tall. Handle has a 7.5-in drop.

Fasteners: Kiss-snap closure in good working order.

Marks: Unmarked

Condition: As mentioned, body of purse has been re-stitched to frame. One of the holes drilled in the frame falls underneath the metal decoration and so that stitch is skipped. Some beading is missing, quite a few beads near the top and a few near the bottom. Please look closely at pictures, the missing beads are easy to see. One of the tiny cabachons is missing from the metal decoration on the frame. Lining is in excellent condition, really amazing. Frame overall is in very good condition with only minor signs of age. There are two small spots of oxidation on the inside of the frame.
