Bi Fold Wallet with coin pouch "Cooling Lava" (Unique Item# WABIRDPRBKG1CL07)
- Top grain, quality vegetable tanned leather.
- Each part is hand cut, painted, stained, sewn and finished.
- Black Satin Liner
- All completed pieces are unique. The photos show the exact item that you are purchasing, flaws & all.
- Coin pocket option *PLEASE NOTE* I searched for the best quality snap option I could find; regardless, the snap finish will wear over time and the adjacent leather will burnish (see photos in listing). This does not ruin the integrity of the snap or leather, nor do I consider this aged look 'bad'. I just want to be transparent, so you may make an informed decision.
-Due to the nature of water-based stain, all finishes will age over time. This can be slowed by treating the leather when needed. I recommend a beeswax conditioner and/or mink oil
Hello, my name is James Edward Collins. I am the artist & founder of my fledgling company BRÖRHUCO (pronounced bro-roo-co). For complete information about the brand & artist, please visit my website: www.Brorhuco.com
My objective is to create unique and usable art, which is top quality, luxurious, Earth friendly and delights you completely!
Slow fashion is my goal:
I use veg. tanned leather opposed to chromium tanned. Veg tan leather takes longer to manufacture (3+ months opposed to a few days as with chromium tanned), is stronger, considerably less polluting, therefore superior to chromium.
Even before I launched my brand, I was and still am actively upgrading my materials to those with a shorter decomposition rate (see chart in photos). For example, I have switched my liners from typical liner material made from polyester, to silk (specified in the individual product listings until my current petroleum based liner stock is depleted, at which point, all liners will be silk).
I use water-based dyes & paints which do not contain harsh, fuming chemicals.
Mink oil & beeswax are used for finishing. I have also started replacing my polyester thread stock with nylon thread.
The construction & materials of my products will last for years longer than those mass order produced with cheaper, inferior, petroleum based materials. As an added bonus, my items will biodegrade at the end of the product's life, within approximately 50 years or less after being composted. Compare that to 200-500 years for petroleum based products.
I source my materials locally or within the U.S. and Etsy to help other small businesses whenever possible.
ARTIST NOTE: I currently have a "real" 40+ hour/week job, therefore my current production is approximately 40-60 leather items annually, in my spare time. If you have ever gone antique or estate shopping, you may have hesitated on an item, then went back later, and it was gone. A missed opportunity! If you love one of my items, buy it, otherwise you may miss the opportunity. If this happens, please reach out to me and I will try to create something similar, which may take several weeks to complete. Feel free to reach out with customized requests as well and I'll be happy to work with you to create the item of your dreams.
Lastly, I sincerely thank you for considering BRÖRHUCO as your brand. And reading this far! My goal is to delight & please all clients, so please, please reach out to me with any observations, recommendations, questions or concerns.
