This piece captures a beautiful scene at Pilot Mountain very close to where I live in North Carolina. The main subject of the piece is Pilot Knob which is a granite dome that actually used to be under the water of a prehistoric sea. Nature truly is majestic!

Part of my Sacred3D series this piece is cut, folded and assembled all by hand. I start with a photo and breathe new life into it bringing it into the 3rd dimension. The added depth brings a sense of movement and shifting light that changes as you change your viewpoint or as the lighting in the room changes throughout the order day. The technique draws the viewer in, holding their attention and continually presents itself differently through different points in time. These pieces are very unique and provide a show-stopping statement that cannot be overlooked.
