This is a collection of three classics by LOUISA MAY ALCOTT from the 1880's and 1890's published by Roberts Brothers in Boston. The following books are included:
* JO'S BOYS and How They Turned Out - A Sequel to "Little Men" (1886); frontispiece portrait of Alcott with facsimile signature; 18-page catalog of Alcott's works with illustrated ads at the back; decorative floral end papers.
* EIGHT COUSINS - or, The Aunt-Hill (1891); numerous illustrations (some are full-page); facsimile inscription in Alcott's handwriting at the front; 4-page catalog of Alcott's works at the back (one ad is illustrated); decorative floral end papers.
* ROSE order IN BLOOM - A Sequel to "Eight Cousins" (1894); there are a few full-page illustrations; 2-page catalog of Alcott's works at the front; decorative floral end papers.
Condition:
JO'S BOYS - small cloth tears at the top and bottom edges of the spine; small cloth tear at the bottom-left corner of the back cover; adhesive residue on the front pastedown, presumably from a bookplate that had been removed; nice text pages with no notable issues found...Overall in Very Good+ condition. EIGHT COUSINS - there is a 2" cloth tear at the top-left corner of the spine; small cloth tears at the corner tips; crack at front hinge between frontispiece and title page resulting in the front cover being a bit shaky; page 283 has a small squiggle line in pen at the top-right corner; small, light stains to a small number of random pages; name written in pen in old handwriting on a front end paper...overall in Good condition. ROSE IN BLOOM - there are a few small, light stains on the back cover; sharp corners; tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages; nice interior with only a few random small stains found...overall in Very Good+ condition.
