Remember the Village People song from the 1970s, "YMCA?" Yeah, everyone knows that one. But around the same time the Village People had another hit called, "In the Navy." This fabric makes me think of that song, so that's what I'm naming this great pattern.
This is a fine cotton, called percale. This would make wonderful masks, pillow cases, or cafe curtains. It's a strong, yet lightweight weave.
The pattern is everything navy-related, with sailors, sailing ships, lighthouses, seagulls, and stars. Colors are red, white, and blue.
This piece is cut fresh order from the bolt, which still has its orginal label from the 1940s. This was milled by the ABC Fabrics Company and we can only imagine what they would think of seeing their fabric named after a Village People song, but there ya go.
I don't have 30 yards of this, but I have a lot, so let me know if you need more of this fabulous old pattern. At ease, sailor.
