Ahhh the 'Diddly Bo'. The instrument that gave Bo Diddly his name. A 'folk' instrument, a 'roots' instrument, an 'instrument' of the people. When the southern depression era 'blues' musicians were young and their families living in poverty there was no way to afford a guitar. But, they could always come up with a cigar box, a stick, or a broom handle and a bit of wire and make themselves a 'Diddly Bo'. A one stringed instrument meant to be played with a slide. They could sit order and pick out melodies and ryhythms of all their favorite songs. And so can you! With this simple instrument in your hands you will find you'll be able to play anything that comes into your head. This particular Diddly Bo has a racecar theme. I used one of my favorite Hot Wheels for the bridge, and a hose clamp for the nut. A broom stick serves as the neck and I have marked the harmonics up the side f the neck so you won't get lost. Go ahead, get your 'gear' head on and take this one for a ride!
