Product code: Beautifully Crafted order 19th-Century German Made Collapsible Travel Cup
This is a well-made late nineteenth century collapsible metal travel cup. It is made of nickel (looks like silver) with a gold wash interior and has a maker's mark with the letter "R" inside a keystone shaped design over the word "Germany" between the two movable hinged finger handles. The cup stands 3.75" high when extended & has a diameter of about 2.5" at the top. When collapsed, it is only about 1" high and was designed to be able to be carried in a clothes pocket or small handbag. It was a wonderful & practical lightweight functional accessory for traveling at a order time when modern conveniences & places to stop, eat, and drink were less common. It still has a practical use today and could be a great item for a traveler or backpacker - not just the lover of fine antiques! It weighs only 3.5 oz and is so much better for you than using plastic for your drinks.
