Vintage Limited Edition Royal Staffordshire "Summer" Figurine - Lady in Pink Swimsuit Holding Shell - 1982

This charming bone china figurine depicts a woman in a late 19th century pink bathing costume consisting of a dress with a wide skirt and bloomers. The lady's blonde hair is tied up in a pink bow which matches her bathing costume. Her right hand holds a seashell up to her ear while her left gathers up her skirt. There is also a sand castle immediately behind her bare feet, completing the beach theme.

This hand painted figurine is part of a limited edition of five hundred pieces. The base of the piece is signed by the decorator Ivan Sutter and marked "38/500/82", indicating that it is #38 out of a limited edition of 500 and was manufactured in 1982. The foot is also stamped "Royal Staffordshire Bone China England".

The figurine is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The piece stands 6.875" tall, is 3.5" wide and the foot is 2.5" across. It weighs 4.5 oz.

A great piece for a collector of fine English figurines or period pieces.
