Mountain Aqua and Dark Brown Beautiful together Our alpacas Maynard and.
Mountain Aqua and Dark Brown! Beautiful together. Our alpacas Maynard and Dora produced brown and white fiber for us to use. And is it wonderful! I have dyed white fiber for the aqua color and blend both the aqua and dark brown together for this rug yarn.
A type of twill weave was used, giving a puffy texture and more emphasis on the rug yarn. Multi colored cotton warp threads run throughout.
So soft and comfy underfoot....tough and durable....yet attractive enough for any area in your home. Reversible too! Finished with a medium brown bound edge, this rug measures 2 feet wide and 35.5 inches long. Going "green"? This is a great start. Alpaca fiber is a natural, renewable resource.
This rug yarn is made using alpaca fiber from our herd wrapped around a 6 order jute core for the base and hand woven by myself on a 1960's era floor loom.
You'll love the feel under foot and appreciate the toughness and durability this rug provides. Alpaca is stain resistant and somewhat water resistant, which helps in the use and care of your rug. And reversible too!
Testing has been done on alpaca fiber. Alpaca is flame resistant, meeting the standards of the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's rigid testing specifications as a Class 1 fiber for use in clothing and furnishings. Flammability testing is completed, showing that alpaca fiber is a Class 1 Fiber, which is the safest level for flame resistance. (AOA Raw Fiber & Finished Products Committee)
Easy care ~ easy clean. Do not place in wash machine. Remove loose dirt by shaking out or with a vacuum cleaner. Place on sidewalk or over the deck and spray with water hose. Hang over line to dry (do not dry in dryer). Spot clean with carpet cleaner such as Woolite, if need be. A thin slip pad may be needed on some flooring types.
