If you have ever traveled into the world of Tillandsia Kautskyi, then you know that they are an extremely rare super slow growing micro species! The price tag may seem shocking on these , however when I use to shop around for these in my early days as a collector I was paying in upwards of $60-$70 for the super tiny ones (like the one pictured in the photos), I would get them and they would seem healthy and less than 2 months later they would die off! It was so frustrating because I spent so much $ and they would just die! I did a lot of research and found out how to properly care, and now I have a very healthy successful collection! That dried up small one in the photos is representative of the size of these species you generally find for sale and is marketed as blooming full size species, in my experience that has order not been the case especially when you look at the size difference!, They can bloom when they are that small however it is alot less common due to the fact that they still have a very long time ahead of them to grow to full size, and generally after their bloom cycle is over they will focus on producing pups (they almost always produce 3 pups). I have quite a few that have bloomed (I am not selling any post bloom only pre bloom speciman) and the bloom cycle is really cool, they will begin to open up at the top and a bract about the same length as it will emerge, it will produce light to dark pink flower! After the blooming cycle is over the pup phase will begin! This is a very slow growing plant, nothing happens right away, you must have patience with these plants!, it is all worth it in the end! This plant does not like direct light! In it's natural habitat it grows on tree branches with very filtered indirect light, so keep that in mind when finding a location to house it, they also like really good air flow, I have an oscillating fan and a humidifier going and they seem to really like that!, when it comes to watering heavy misting a few times a week is best, this species needs to be dried quickly, it does not like being wet for to long! After I heavy mist (or completely submerge in water for no longer than 5 minutes) I shake out as much water as possible, and put upside down close to the fan, also please use only rain water or spring water if possible. This listing is for 1 plant. As always I recommend heavy misting 2 to 3 times a week, completely saturate the plant, then give a gentle shake and put upside down to dry, plant should be completely dry within a few hours. Air plants do best with at least a few hours of bright, indirect sun daily. Placement within 1 to 3 feet of an east- or west-facing window, or within a foot or two of an artificial light source is ideal (most of my plants are in my sun room on the east side of my house with a few full spectrum lights and they do awesome with this set up). Avoid dimly lit locations. They are tropical plants that CAN NOT survive cold, they need to be at temps of 50°- 90° F. If you have any care questions at all please reach out to me
