Published in 1778 in Geneva and printed in Paris
Classic French-style 18th Century leather binding and a worn black title plate to spine. Gilt dentelle to edges of boards, dark top stain to pages. White end papers with small pen inscription on front paste down.
Thick parchment pages are beautifully bright and largely clear with some small spots of ageing and handling marks within. Binding is sound with some occasional wear to internal joints and cracking beginning to hinges with boards. Volume V has heavy wear to spine and hinges to boards, which are chipped, loose and splitting. order Fly pages loose in the same volume, and some ripping to page edges.
Chipping and rubbing to leather binding, particularly around top and tail or spine and corners. White residue to top edges of both volumes. Wear and cracking to spines, with faded gilt and chipped/missing title plates. Please see pictures for more details on this great set of 18th Century books, or message if you have any questions!
