"Gone Fishing" by Norman Rockwell.
This is a 1994 fine quality limited edition print of Norman Rockwell's iconic yet missing "Gone Fishing" painting. It comes in it's original mailing cardboard box with an attached protective sheet/cover (printed upon which is info* about Rockwell and his work.) This print has never been framed, and I not sure it's actually ever been taken out of it's original mailer packaging. The print has been stamped twice by the 'Illustrators Gallery of America' and the 'Saturday Evening Post'. It has been hand signed and numbered, 335 / 2500.
The mounted / backing sheet paper measures 28" x 22". The actual print measures 20" x 16".
*The info on the cover tells us some of Rockwell's history / legacy and the following which I've re-written verbatim:
"This print is one of a commemorative edition series of Norman Rockwell Paintings, a posthumous publication celebrating his 100th birthday anniversary. It is certified by Judy Goffman, executive director of the American Illustrators Gallery, as one of his best known and popular images. This certification also guarantees that the prints in this edition have been published in accordance with the detailed data described herein and are faithful reproductions. This 100th anniversary commemorative edition print is reproduced from an illustration created by Norman Rockwell by offset lithography using 150 line screen, and printed in four colors. The image is printed on 100# stock and then mounted on a debossed panel on Strathmore beau brilliant, color ivory, 100# cover stock. Typographic design and layout is by Laurence S. Cutler AIA, RIBA of ASAP. This commemorative edition is published by Versetree Limited and copyrighted by ARTShows and Products, CORP. (ASAP) in 1994; The image is copyrighted by Curtis Publishing Co., in 1994 and printed by Springdale Graphics of Stamford, CT. USA."
"Entitled "Gone Fishing" this painting was reproduced as a Saturday Evening order Post cover of July 19 1930. Oil on Canvas, the original painting is signed lower right. The whereabouts of the original is unknown.
CONDITION: I would say that essentially this print is in excellent condition. It shows signs of very minor creasing which is only to be expected after all these years. Examine all the pictures closely. Zoom in & out of all the pictures to get a good sense of its exact condition: a picture tells a thousand words. The photos serve as a document as to its condition. You will receive the exact print here.
Great gift for the collector of fine art, wall art, vintage prints, painting, pictures and Rockwellian memorabilia. This is a true conversation piece and would be a major addition to any collection. Don't delay if you want to make it yours. :o)
All my items are well packed, tracked and fully insured. It will arrive to you in the exact condition as pictured. If the Etsy / USPS shipping quote seems a little high then please message me with your zip code. Many times FedEx are cheaper, I will get a quote.
