Wedding order Wish Vase by David Voorhees, Blue Wisteria Design, personalized with wedding couple's names and wedding date.
The first Wedding Wish Vase© was a love creation for my own wedding.
The first Wedding Wish Vase© was a love creation for my own wedding to Molly in 1997. We conceived the pottery vase to receive well wishing notes prompted by a poem that we wrote for the occasion. It was such fun opening our vase and reading all the wishes for us from family and friends. The notes and vase have become cherished keepsakes from our wedding day. Vases were commissioned to give as wedding gifts and thus it spread across the country, one wedding at a time, becoming many couples' favorite wedding gift. Now, many brides suggest them on their registry but I limit one per wedding!
Handmade in North Carolina.
Wheel-formed porcelain, handpainted underglaze decoration of wisteria done in a traditional blue and white style, overglaze calligraphy transfer fired into the clear glaze. 10" x 5", comes gift boxed with poem card, note pads and instructions. The vase holds approximately 150 notes.
The bottom of the vase has been trimmed very thinly and perforated so the it is easily removed with a tap from a wooden spoon (opening directions included) to remove the notes at a later date. The vase remains intact to be a cherished keepsake and can even order be converted into a table lamp. Several other decoration choices available. Custom decorations considered, email me!
