Product code: Hand Blown Glass Art Garden Art sculpture Chicken Rooster Oneil 2579 order Sculpture

Beautiful Hand Blown Sculpted glass garden chicken. Chicken measures approx. 9.5" from tip of copper fitting to top of head and 3" wide. DUE TO SHIPPING COSTS, WE INCLUDE A 12" ONLY COPPER PIPE FOR THE GROUND. IF YOU NEED A TALLER PIPE, YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE A 1/2" COPPER PIPE IN THE LENGTH YOU WANT FROM YOUR LOCAL HARDWARE STORE. THE COPPER FITTING WILL SLIDE RIGHT ON TO YOUR COPPER PIPE. THE PIPE IS NOT TOO EXPENSIVE FOR A SMALL LENGTH AND MOST STORES CARRY IT IN DIFFERENT LENGTHS OR THEY WILL CUT IT FOR YOU. BE SURE NOT TO HAMMER DIRECTLY ON THE TOP OF THE PIPE WHEN PUTTING IT IN THE GROUND OR IN YOUR FLOWER POT AS YOU CAN MUSHROOM OUT THE END, IF THE END OF THE PIPE GETS FLATTENED OR MUSHROOMED OUT IT WILL NOT SLIDE INTO THE COPPER FITTING AT THE BASE OF THE CHICKEN. Putting 1/2" rebar inside the copper pipe will also reinforce the base if you find you need it. Rebar is also available at most hardware stores.

About the artist: Since the age of 14 Stan O'Neil knew that whatever he did in life it would involve working with his hands. At an early age, he loved to design and fabricate items. His work experience began with paintwork on cars. As his art skills developed, he worked more intensely with metals. He has attended many different blacksmithing, metal working and auto painting courses. During the time he was taking one of his metal working courses, he was introduced to the art of glass blowing. Almost immediately, he knew the time had come for him to expand his talents and add glasswork to his current array of skills. Since then he has had the pleasure of working and learning from the best instructors in the Northwest. He has gained a lot of knowledge from them and now is privileged enough to have been accepted to attend Pilchuck Glass school in 2010.
His latest work includes hand forged metal art flower stands that hold beautiful hand blown glass spinner flowers. All metal parts are hand forged with heat and hammering and the spinners are custom blown at his glass studio in Sedro Woolley. The hardness and formability of the metal in combination with the forming of the glass really excites him. Combining two different art media formed from heat and fire has presented great possibilities for his work. The colors and forms are an endless challenge. His studio is located in a small town in order Northwest Washington, Sedro Woolley. He currently shows his work in his own blowing studio, Courtyard Gallery in LaConner, WA ,the LaConner Museum of Glass, Renaissance Celebration in Bellingham, WA, Gallery by the Bay in Stanwood, WA , Seagrass Gallery on Camano, WA, and San Pasqual's in New Mexico.
