An American Art Nouveau sterling silver cheese serving knife in the Yetive pattern originally made circa 1896 or 1898. This ornately patterned 7-1/4" serving piece has the manufacture mark for H.H. Curtis and a date of 1902, but it is identical to the Mount Vernon Silver Company Yetive pattern which they were producing in the 1890s. According to Maryanne Dolan it was 1898, and 1896 according to Replacements.com Not necessarily copied, the flatware may have been produced by one company and sold to the other. An ornate and beautiful floral design. It weighs 36 grams, it has STERLING PAT 02 and it is in excellent condition with no monograms, dents, bends, corrosion, damage or repairs.
Silver has indications of order use as expected.
