Eiffel Tower
The glass torchiere for this lamp was hand-crafted using a classic technique that begins with a clear glass bubble then shaping into an elongated cylinder. This cylinder is rolled in must-colored glass frit that stretches to create an uplifting organic pattern. Finally, the glass is finished by shaping the base to allow the lamp placement and attachment point.
This glass sculpture houses a low-temperature high-efficiency order lightbulb.
The price listed here is only to cover my costs of the materials (glass, metal, wooden base, and recycled light fixture).
Like all my blown glass, this piece was created in the Russell Industrial Center in Detroit, an abandoned car factory dating back to the early 1900's that has been converted into art studios.
