Brodrene Mylius (Kragero, Norway) made this 1950s set of Six gold vermeil over silver demitasse spoons. Traditionally demitasse spoons are used for coffee drinks in specialty cups and for spooning cappuccino froth, but they also make great condiment spoons. This pattern titled, "DYU2" has slender handles that are topped with pierced scrolls and plumes. Each spoon measures approx. 3 3/4 inches long and has a 1 1/8 inch x 11/16 inch bowl.
The backs are signed with a bird on nest picto hallmark attributed to Brodrene Mylius and marked, "830 S" (830 silver, a slightly lower grade of silver than sterling or 925). They are also marked "NM", which means "Norsk Monster" and is a generic mark that translates roughly as design copyright. The gold finish is very lively on the spoons, but does have expected age wear as photographed. Please see photos for condition. Overall, this order set is in great sturdy vintage condition for its age.
